The growing adoption of electric vehicles requires new expertise, more advanced diagnostics, and reliable tools to support maintenance, repair, and servicing.
Akkuauto has developed the Akkulink platform, a cloud-based solution for managing, analysing, and reporting data from electric vehicle high-voltage batteries.
Akkulink is more than just a database. It is a technology platform that brings together Akkuauto, its official partners, battery data, service data, and customer reporting into one integrated solution.

Smart connection to the vehicle and battery

At the core of the Akkulink platform is versatile data communication, enabling critical battery data to be collected and made available in the right format.

The platform enables data transfer from a vehicle or high-voltage battery in two ways:

1. Akkulink Connect

Akkulink Connect acts as an intelligent bridge between the vehicle and the cloud server via a mobile network or Wi-Fi connection.
It enables long-term remote monitoring, collection of battery operating data, and the creation of an up-to-date overview of the battery’s condition.

2. Android application and Bluetooth connection

Akkulink also includes an Android application that allows data to be transferred from a vehicle or a standalone high-voltage battery using a Bluetooth adapter.
The solution is designed specifically to support maintenance and repair work. It enables flexible data collection even when the battery has been removed from the vehicle or is being handled in a workshop environment.

Comprehensive data management and analysis

Akkulink serves as a shared technology platform for Akkuauto and its official partners. The platform centralises battery technology data in one place, making battery inspection, maintenance, and repair more systematic, transparent, and thoroughly documented.

Akkulink enables, among other things:

  • access to an extensive database of battery and cell types
  • storage of vehicle- and battery-specific data
  • systematic collection of fault codes and diagnostic data
  • documentation of service and inspection data
  • visualisation of data as clear graphs
  • AI-powered summaries for customer reports
  • decision support for battery maintenance, repair, replacement batteries, and Chill battery protection
  • secure cloud-based data management

When battery data is collected systematically and linked to the correct battery and vehicle type, it supports better decision-making regarding battery condition, repairability, and the appropriate next steps.

Funding

The Akkulink project has received EU rural development funding from the Satakunta ELY Centre, whose responsibilities are now handled by the Southwest Finland Centre for Economic Development.
The funding has enabled Akkuauto to develop the Akkulink platform, supporting high-voltage battery data management, extending battery lifecycles, assessing repairability, improving maintenance safety, and contributing to the development of a more sustainable electric mobility ecosystem. The project is co-funded by the European Union.
