Before your CHILL Battery Protection takes effect, your car will undergo a CHILL Battery Check by Akkuauto – ensuring everything is in top condition for worry-free driving.
Model 3 and Y Battery Checks are performed remotely
The cost of a remote battery check for Model 3 and Y is included in the price of CHILL Battery Protection when the agreement is signed.
In cases of cancellation, or if a battery check is requested without subscribing to CHILL Battery Protection, the price will be determined according to the current price list: 229 €

You can have your Model S or X battery checked at:

- Kankaanpää
- Kuopio (Partner)
- Lieto (Partner)

The price for a Model S or X battery check is 229 €.
A replacement car (Model 3) is available during the inspection for 20 €, ensuring a smooth and convenient experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I get CHILL Battery Protection?
Model 3 and Y
Contact Akkuauto or an official Partner to schedule a remote battery check. We will guide you to grant access via the MyTesla app. The inspection is included in the CHILL Battery Protection price.
Model S and X
Schedule an appointment at Akkuauto in Pirkkala or Kankaanpää, or at a Partner location in Kuopio or Lieto. The inspection takes about 2 hours and costs €229, payable on site. The check determines the level of CHILL Battery Protection your car is eligible for.
Approved inspection = CHILL Battery Protection activated
After the inspection, Akkuauto will call you to review the results. You will then receive an email with the Battery Protection agreement, terms, and your first invoice.
What if the inspection is not passed?
No worries – we will provide an assessment of required maintenance or repairs so that CHILL can be activated later.
When can CHILL Battery Protection not be granted?
CHILL Battery Protection cannot be issued for an already faulty battery. That’s why an inspection is required.
The inspection evaluates several areas affecting eligibility. While we do not publish exact thresholds, CHILL cannot be granted if the battery is severely worn, shows active fault codes, moisture, or voltage deviations between modules.
If moisture is detected, a Battery Service is required before CHILL can be activated. Minor wear and deviations in used cars are expected and taken into account during the evaluation.
I want to buy a car and get CHILL Battery Protection – how?
Contact the dealer and let them know which car you are interested in, and that you want it covered by CHILL Battery Protection before purchase.
- Models S and X: The dealer or you can bring the car to Akkuauto or an official Partner for inspection.
- Model 3 and Y: The dealer must grant remote access for the inspection. Akkuauto will perform the remote check.
Once the inspection is approved, CHILL Battery Protection can be issued. You can agree with the dealer who will pay for the CHILL. The invoice can be issued as a single payment or as monthly installments based on the selected level.
What if I sell my car while it has CHILL Battery Protection?
CHILL Battery Protection can increase your car’s appeal! The agreement can be transferred to the new owner, remaining valid for the agreed period. The new owner can also extend the CHILL after the first period ends.
For billing, there are two options:
- Pay the remaining balance in full, OR
- Set up a new billing agreement with the new owner for the remaining balance, with a €35 administration fee.
What should I do if I suspect a high-voltage battery fault?
Contact Akkuauto via the website form or by calling customer service. Provide any fault codes displayed on the screen.
If you have CHILL Battery Protection and the codes indicate a high-voltage battery issue, we will perform a remote diagnosis and provide detailed instructions for next steps. Repairs will be carried out at Akkuauto or an official Partner location, following Akkuauto’s guidance
